MISSION STATEMENT

Mohawk Housing Corp.:

Committed to assisting the  community with economic and housing improvement. MIHC supports and encourage those whose efforts are directed towards community development. MIHC will assist affordable housing needs of the elderly, the handicapped and disabled, very low income families, the homeless families in emergency crisis facing disaster.

The Mohawk Indian Housing Corp. aims to deliver the highest quality of support and service to those we serve in the community.

THE BEGINNING

June 23, 1972 the Department of State

Certificate of Incorporation was issued to the Mohawk Indian Housing Corporation under Section 402 of the Non-Profit Corp. Law of New York.

The purpose for which it was formed:

To develop comprehensive housing programs whereby adequate housing can provide to members of the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe; To obtain financial assistance from Federal, State and other source private or public in constructing, selling or leasing houses on St. Regis Mohawk Indian Reservation; To act as the community housing planning unit, and to coordinate the proper housing allocation within the St. Regis Mohawk Indian Reservation.

CODE OF ETHICS

Mohawk Housing Corporation is guided by the Great Law principles.

These organizational principles are ancient and have shown to be foundational for successful living in our non-profit world.

Begins with each individual to make and be peaceful inside.
